Speaking in Tongues & Christianity

Turns out 'speaking in tongues' in Nigeria has a pattern after all. Usually starts with Mototoshatatatatatata... and continues repeating consonant morphemes like 'ra', 'ta', 'ma' etc. No wonder why so many people are learning it.

But what does the Bible have to tell us about speaking in tongues?:

1. The reason for speaking is so you can be heard and understood. It's therefore useless to speak in tongues when no one understands you, unless there is someone who can interpret your words or you are praying privately to God. The disciples gift of speaking in tongues allowed them speak real languages that people with other languages could hear. Most here however are clearly speaken completely 'unknown' languages.

2. The gift of tongues in the case where it lets you speak to an unbeliever in his/her own language is useful, but clearly what we see presently is unbelievers laughing presently at the foolishness of the 'Church' due to such acts. Even Paul clearly in Corinthians was trying to address the issue which seemed to had been occuring in those days too.

3. The lowest of the gifts of the holy spirit is speaking in tongues , so why not ask for better gifts when playing for the gifts of the holy spirit? Like Faith, Hope or Love, and Love is the only one that never ends.

The Dangers of the Media : The oblivious responsibilities of a parent

You know, I was really investigating this stuff. Have you ever watched a kid pull your ears and laugh as you clutch them in pain? We seem to be the generation in trouble. Especially those who have not been taught their cultures properly by their parents.

As kids we are exposed not to old moonlight tales, but to the TV, cartoons that teach mischief, stealing, and other bad habits, (Thanks to my friend Tee-i) and to laugh at them. Our teenagers/youths learn about love, dressing, fashion, and even life from the TV shows and movies, and their society. Even mere newspaper headlines are 80% of the time about thieves, rape, and corruption.

Even more dangerous, this trend is moving over to the Internet.

A simple analysis would tell you that these sources, these media we are exposed to are not the best for us. 80% of them including kid stuff show morally unjust content. Not to mention that things like lying to protect our ego has become part of our lives, yet we dare call Satan the father of lies (Does it mean that you're his child then?)

It is hence obvious that a great responsibility rests in the hands of today's parents. As for myself, I have promised myself to give my children (if ever they will exist) the best they can get.

Those who have access to the media can also contribute by reviewing the kind of thing they want to show the world and recognize that they are touching the lives of many people. This is the information age where information spreads like exploding atomic particles.

Those who have already taken in a lot of this media should take their actions and habits into considerations, where did you learn them, do you think they are all in your best interest?

Can you see?

It takes time and understanding to percieve what's going on in the world of technology. Every one at least recognizes that we have come to the information age, but do they recognize what will dominate the information age? Do the youths that try to become relevant in this age recognize the industrial workspace they plan to build on?

One thing is obvious: The internet will become the aorta of the information age. Every single device will be connected to something. Majority of products and services that are used frequently by humans will be on the internet - within our immediate reach. The internet will become the portal you see in StarGate, or Harry Potter, a way to reach out to everything you need.

In this respect, I will take Microsoft for an examplary analogy. Have you taken time to see what the old company of 1983 is doing? Microsoft is trying to bring a new wine, but new wine does not fit into old skin, so they are gradually rebuilding the skin. That's why they are moving into the clouds and investing into products they think will dominate in this new era, Windows 8 has some of its files running on the internet.

Why?

Because Microsoft has realized that Operating Systems will not be a major issue in the information age. Soon operating sytems will simply be a way to connect to the internet. Still don't get it? Every single software or service you use on your PC will soon be accessible online. (and most are already accessible). You won't need to bother updating it. Companies will be held responsible for virus attacks on your files. Every single pc out there will simply become an advanced communication device. And the next version of devices will be robots and androids.

Our youths are being swept away by the tide of information left loose on the media. Most have put themself in a position where they simply sit back and watch the succesful ones, maybe due to the balance-seeking nature of the cosmos. They have easy access to an enormous unorganized amount of information to achieve success, and their mind now percieves success more as a fantasy than reality (even without them realizing it).

So why am I writing this?

I am writing this for the sake of the intelligent and inspired youths who want to set great foundations of success in this era. One of our major problems is our poor analytical skills. You cannot analyze correctly if you don't understand the situation you are facing. To understand properly, you need to be broad-minded, well-informed and organized. Read widely and stretch your imagination to its maximum. Let your creativity soar in boundless realms. We are the people that will define this age for our children and our generation, the old icons (like Alan Turing, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates) that are now growing old have done their best to set the pace. I have been impressed with a couple of Nigerians I have met, and this being my 20th year, I know my time is running out fast.

The most wonderful thing about technology is that it's the easiest tool you can use to bring an imagination to reality with a proper careful creation of the mind. Think about it, every good technology product you know today started in the mind of someone, few days later, it was born. We are coming close to a mind-power era (Imagine when you will be able to instruct robots to build a program for you).

Our creativity may have been surpressed by the poor education we recieve in our schools, but we can unleash our natural creativity by courage combined with the force of our imagination. It's the only way we can really bring to reality the expectations of humans for the information age.

I call upon you all, expressing my confidence and trust in you. Success comes only with a lot of hardwork and wisdom. If you haven't, make a decision now:

• To read lesser but more powerful material, and focus more on organizing all the information you have in order to set a focused target for yourself.
• To speak less about your desires in order not to make it appear like a dream/story to your mind.
• And to realize that what goes on in our minds is too important, it's our sourceforge, our engine, it's the stuff that defines who we become.

Questions, Wonders, Marvels, Jubilations, Nigeria

For the first time in my life, I feel special as a Nigerian, finding myself in a situation fit for the movies. Finally, there is a solid hope of the redemption of Nigeria, this strange unique country which seems to be handled differently by the cosmos compared to all other countries.

After several years of prayers by different religious and spiritual units spanned across the country, their finally seems to have arisen, a solution which can be seen to have spiritual attributes attached to it. The unexplainable rise of a humble servant to the presidential seat of the country, who did in no way rise by his own power/might in a politics filled with dirt and corruption rise to power. Suddenly all at once again, there seams to be a cleansing in the political system.

It rouses me and fills my chi with power, hope and strength. My time is near, and I have to gear up and get ready for my enormous future. A sun of hope has been born and I would be among her first and greatest stars.

It amuses me when I see young people who have no political experience judging this new found situation with their little wisdom. But I see it all as a divine construct, together the voice of the people are moulding a perfect solution for us as they identify the imperfection of the humble leader.

There is nothing as sweet as a good and humble heart in power, we all feel it in ourselves, some wonder why? They can't just see the reason? The power of belief is comparable to nothing. I have found a messiah clay and I believe I am skilled enough to use it.

I don't know about you, but... see you at the top!

In Retrospect: The way forward...

It's crawling in. It's not one. They are many.. It is preparing for the inevitable. The road is getting confusing. But the way is still clear. You only have to look with your lower eyes.

Sometimes it gets stuck in your mind. You wonder how and why? But then you don't actually do. Because it's not the 'you' that you can control that controls it. So in the end you rely on that which has failed many times.. The opinion of the 'many'

Many are called but few are chosen. The end always draw near coz time never stops ticking. Every second you're growing older, new opportunities to settle down your dreams to the earth.

So when the going gets tough, keep in mind that it is only a surety that the end is bigger. Because big dreams require tough people. Align to your calling.. You know it's the truth because it's in you.

Time Flies..

But yet, you have to be ahead of time?..

So you know what to do?

Wings are not enough this time around.
